ADOLESCENT IOP INTENSIVE-OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
The BreakAway Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is based on the latest research in addictions. Research has shown that when a person becomes abstinent, his or her brain chemistry undergoes predictable changes. These changes in brain chemistry lead to predictable behaviors on the part of the recovering client. It is essential that a structured format is provided for the recovering addict to follow and be guided in the course of learning to be abstinent. BreakAway's qualified staff provides a highly structured yet individualized program to meet the various needs of each client and his family.
A client will be admitted into the IOP after a full clinical assessment has been completed. The criteria for the client's program structure is based upon the findings of the initial assessment. The structure of the client's treatment program is based on the information obtained in the assessment of both the client and the parents. The essential element for a successful treatment program is family participation.
The IOP program is designed to work in three phases. Each phase is a crucial element to the client's ability to stay in recovery. All three phases of the structured program includes peer groups, multi-family groups, education, individual counseling, weekly drug screens, 12-Step support, behavior contract and case management.
